Warning: This post has nothing to do with niche marketing, web success, or blogging…but in a way it has everything to do with everything.
I have been busy writing throughout my day today, and as I have been studying, freelancing, and going through a Quick Books tutorial session for the awesome new marketing job I recently landed–I have to say that I’ve had a certain tug in my heart all day.
Today is Good Friday. Why is it Good Friday? Because today is the day that the man who means everything to me, chose to lay down His life so that I could live. He traded places with me and gave me everything.
Any small amount of success I have here on this earth, whether business, financial, family or otherwise is due to the fact that I have been richly blessed by my Creator.
I’m a first generation Christian. Without sounding prideful, I think first generation Christians tend to consider their faith more deeply than those who have been raised in a household of believers. I found Him…or I should say, He found me without the badgering of parental influence or rigid Sunday school classes. I was never forced to believe in anything, and yet He picked me out of the crowd and said, “You there…yes you…you are Mine.”
I know everyone gets this call, some deny it, some don’t answer, and some possibly think that they don’t have any use or need of a Savior. I’m so glad that I do. I need Him…
It’s funny, because I’m not religious. I don’t have a religious bone in my body. I won’t fight with you and tell you that if you are a different religion or believe differently that you are wrong. I don’t believe things work that way. My take on it is this…it’s a matter of the heart. God is big…I mean really, really big. I may not understand everything there is to know about Him, but I know enough about marketing to realize that if I can think outside the box, then so can He. I don’t believe that certain religions are right or wrong because here’s the deal….If you are really looking for Him, sincerely and honestly…then it doesn’t matter where you look—you’ll find Him. He will show up there, just for you.
That was my reflection and blog post for Good Friday. It wasn’t really about web success, but then again if you have the foundation of all success, the rest of it will fall into place.
