6 Top Ways to Improve Your Google Adsense Earnings

Thanks for being a regular. Glad you are here!

If bloggers and webmasters want to monetize their websites, one way to do it is through the use of Google Adsense. There are plenty of webmasters struggling to realize solid earnings from their websites or blogs. At the opposite end of the spectrum, some of the strategic thinkers amongst us are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their sites. What makes these site owners different from the non-earning kind is nothing more than their ability to properly set up their blog, drive traffic to it, and strategically place their Adsense ads.

Here are 5 proven ways that will improve your Adsense earnings:google adsense earnings

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This format has the tendency to result in higher click-through rates (CTR). Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because this style of ad looks like a normal web link, and people (being creatures of habit) and already used to clicking on them, will continue to click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense ads, but as long as there are clicks then it will result in your financial advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea in patterning the colors is to make the Adsense ads look like part of the web page. Again, this will result in more clicks from visitors to your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense ads. Position them in a place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed at the difference it will make when you reposition your ads to a new location.

4. Keep a log of where you place your ads and over time you will be able to determine what works best for Adsense CTRs.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators on their website. If you have a WordPress blog, there are adsense plugins that accomplish the same thing.

6. Possibly a sneaky tactic, but when I put ads in the content of an article I tend to place some of them in places where they can be “accidentally” clicked on…….oops! Like right above the line of text that says “click here for rest of article.” But of course, I didn’t say that because I would never suggest this sort of unconventional tactic. (lol)

These are some of the tips that have worked well to generate hundreds and even thousands of dollars for others on their websites and blogs. It is important to realize that ads are displayed that fit the interest of the people viewing them. So when choosing your ad channels, focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that visitors will be viewing already.
