Are There Really Ways to Make Money Fast Online?

by the juice on June 1, 2009

Thanks for being a regular. Glad you are here!

ways to make money fast onlineSome people, unfortunately, still look at blogging and online freelance work as ‘not being a real job.’ I remember several months ago when my teenage daughter first asked me if I was ever going to go out and get a ‘real’ job. Funny, because at the time, she was ‘really’ spending my money. I think that kind of validates things.

If you are someone who has recently been affected by the economy with the loss of your job–or even if you are worried about an impending layoff, you may be asking yourself, “Are there really ways to make money fast online?” The answer, I promise you…is yes.

Finding ways to make money fast online can be exciting and scary at the same time. Exciting when it works and the money starts to trickle in, but scary if the bills are piling up and you absolutely have to get some cash rolling in.

Believe me, I’ve been there and I know exactly what you are going through. I’m not Travis from Bum Marketing and I’m not Guy Kawasaki with millions of followers…I’m just a mom in SW Florida who has quietly learned how to use the wonders of the internet to make a comfortable living for myself and my family through writing and blogging.

What’s the big secret to making money online?

No secret. It really is about following the right methods. Anyone can set up a blog and slap some Google adsense or affiliate merchandise on there, but if your blog is not set up correctly, you are not going to get anywhere. There is a step by step process (that is easy enough for an eight year old to follow) but here’s the tricky part–it must be followed.

Blogging is an excellent way to earn money online because your blogs are always up and running for you.

With a blog, you can actually rank with the search engines in a matter of days. Once you learn how to place quality content on your blog and feature advertisements that convert into sales, you have arrived.

Since time is of the essence, it is in your best interest to follow a reliable, thorough and easy to follow blogging tutorial. The best of these is called The Niche Blogger, and many new Internet marketers have found success through this program. It is how I got started, and the basis for every one of my blogs today.

You will learn how to set up your blog from start to finish. This includes all the technical aspects that can seem scary for a new blogger.

You also learn how to write the content you need to attract search engines so you can get more eyes on your blog.

Finally, you’ll discover the best ways to optimize your blog so you can make the money you need fast.

Blogging is definitely the best way to make money online, since it will be a passive income earner for you that can last forever. Owning a  blog gives you the opportunity to turn your site into an authority in any niche market, from gardening to auto repair–and make money with it.

The Niche Blogger will equip you with ideas for your niche market as well. You’ll learn how to research keywords to find out what people are searching for right now and you’ll be able to talk to other ‘Niche Bloggers’ on the forum membership site. This gives you a group of others who are at all different levels of their blogging experience to compare notes with. Before long, you will realize that this is not a game…it is a real job, with real income.

Blogging is serious business and it certainly beats showing up for work everyday and punching a time clock.

My mom still doesn’t think I do anything. On her off days, she expects me to hang out with her if she’s going shopping or running errands. She also assigns me to take my grandmother anywhere she needs to go because I “have the freedom to do what I want, when I want.” She doesn’t realize I do bring in a supplemental income to my husband’s salary, and that I sometimes have deadlines to meet!

That’s a good one….I used to have girlfriends who would come over and “hang out” while I was trying to write. That’s always a treat. Because my job isn’t real, right? lol

I worked at home for four years with my family asking me when I was going to go out and get a “real job,” too. They’d call me up for lunch every day. And my mom was completely exasperated to see the state of my house. After all, if I was home all day, why wasn’t the house spotless?

So my contract at home came to an end and I went out to get one of those “real jobs” they’d been talking about. I was great at it. And then I got laid off.

Now my family takes me seriously because I’m not just working at home, I’m running my own company. I guess that makes it legitimate to them. But even before I formed an LLC, I was still bringing in money to pay the mortgage – and that’s pretty real to me!

My best friend still calls me in the middle of the afternoon – and I can’t get her off the phone for at least 45 minutes! She keeps asking when she can come and “kidnap” me to go out somewhere – she doesn’t understand that I don’t get paid unless I do the work!

Agree, blogging is a serious business like any other business. If you are willing to learn, work hard, and not give up, you’ll make it.

Btw, I think your “If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!” is making you look funny.

See, if someone is new here, why would he subscribe using the link in the announcement above your post? He hasn’t read anything yet. If after reading he like your blog, he’ll look for the RSS himself, even though you don’t put that announcement there. I believe that’s how it works. But it’s just me :D

Cheers

Thanks for the tip, Isaac!
Actually, the “you may want to subscribe” thingy that you see if you are new, is a product of Seth Godin and has helped me to gain a notable amount of recurring traffic. I definitely see your point, but will happily continue to use the plugin. For anyone wondering where they can get one, just Google Seth Godin’s Word Press Plug in and you’ll find it.
